Standing on the Indo-China Border at 14,140 Feet
Perched on the eastern Himalayan ridge at an elevation of 14,140 feet, Nathula Pass was once a vital artery of the ancient Silk Route connecting Lhasa in Tibet to the ports of Bengal. Today, it stands as one of the most dramatic international borders in the world, where Indian and Chinese soldiers stand guard just meters apart behind barbed-wire fences.
