Day 01

Arrival at NJP/Bagdogra & Transfer to Jaldapara

Welcome to North Bengal! Upon your arrival at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri (NJP), our Indian fleet driver will receive you. You will begin a scenic 3.5-hour highway drive deep into the Dooars plains toward Madarihat (the entry town for Jaldapara National Park).

After checking into your self-booked eco-resort, spend your evening relaxing. Secure your Elephant or Jeep safari tickets at the forest reception for the following morning.

Transit: ~4 Hours / 120 KM
Day 02

Jaldapara Safari & Border Crossing to Phuentsholing

Wake up before dawn for an exhilarating Safari inside Jaldapara National Park to spot the Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros. Post-breakfast, check out from your resort. Your driver will transfer you to the Jaigaon Border.

Here, the "Handoff" occurs. You will cross into Phuentsholing (Bhutan). Our Bhutanese transport partner will meet you to assist with immigration, biometric registration, and paying your SDF. Once permits are cleared, your Bhutanese SUV will drive you to Thimphu (or you may stay in Phuentsholing depending on time). Check into your Thimphu hotel.

Highlights: Rhino Safari, Immigration
Day 03

Thimphu Full Day Sightseeing

Enjoy your first full day in the Land of the Thunder Dragon. Your Bhutanese cab will take you for a comprehensive tour of the capital city, Thimphu.

The tour covers the massive Buddha Dordenma (Kuensel Phodrang), the National Memorial Chorten, the Takin Preserve (to see Bhutan's national animal), and the beautiful Tashichho Dzong. Spend your evening exploring the quiet, traffic-light-free streets of Thimphu.

Day 04

Thimphu to Paro Transfer & Sightseeing

Check out from Thimphu after breakfast. You will begin a highly scenic 1.5-hour drive following the Wang Chhu and Paro Chhu rivers to the breathtaking valley of Paro.

Today is the highlight of the Bhutan leg. Your driver will drop you at the base camp for the Tiger's Nest (Taktsang) hike. This sacred monastery clings impossibly to a sheer cliff 900 meters above the Paro Valley.

The steep, uphill hike takes about 3 to 4 hours one way (ponies can be hired for the first half). After exploring this spiritual site, carefully descend. Your driver will pick you up and return you to the hotel for a well-deserved rest.

Highlights: Intense 5-6 Hour Hike
Day 06

Paro to Jaigaon/Madarihat Return

Check out of your Paro hotel after breakfast. You will begin the long descent out of the mountains, driving roughly 4.5 hours back to the Phuentsholing border.

Transit: ~4.5 Hours / 140 KM
Day 07

Departure: Border to NJP/Bagdogra

Enjoy your final breakfast in the Dooars. Check out of your hotel, and your Indian driver will commence the highway journey back to Siliguri.

Comprehensive Guide: Booking Your Dooars & Bhutan Combo Tour Package

Why This Multi-Country Route is the Ultimate Transit Solution

Planning an international trip to Bhutan while also wanting to experience the wildlife of India requires meticulous logistics. The dooars bhutan combo tour package 6n 7d is specifically engineered to bridge the transport gap between these two regions. By booking this package, you don't have to hire a bagdogra to bhutan taxi and a separate Jaldapara safari cab. Siliguri Cab Rental provides a continuous relay system: our Indian SUV handles your Dooars safaris and drops you at the border, while our verified Bhutanese partner receives you on the other side for your thimphu paro tour.

Understanding the Border Handoff at Jaigaon

Indian commercial vehicles face severe restrictions and exorbitant daily permit fees (over ₹4,500 per day) to enter deep into Bhutan. Therefore, the smartest way to execute a jaldapara bhutan tour is through a border drop. Our Indian driver will take you directly to the jaigaon border crossing and assist with your luggage to the Phuentsholing gate. Once you clear customs, a registered Bhutanese SUV (like a Hyundai Tucson or Santa Fe) will be waiting to proceed up the mountains. This saves you an immense amount of money compared to taking an Indian taxi all the way to Thimphu.

SDF and Bhutan Permits

It is absolutely critical to understand Bhutan's internal permit system. Indian nationals must pay a mandatory Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of ₹1,200 per person, per night for the duration of their stay inside the country. You must possess an original, valid Indian Passport or Voter ID to enter (Aadhar cards are not accepted). When you book this siliguri to bhutan border cab combo with us, our local Bhutanese partners will guide you through the physical immigration office to ensure your SDF and Route Permits are processed smoothly.

Package FAQ

Common questions about this 6N/7D cross-border itinerary.

Are hotels and meals included in your Bhutan tour packages?

No, we specialize in "Transport-Only" master packages. This gives you the freedom to book hotels in Jaldapara, Thimphu, and Paro that fit your specific taste and budget. Our packages completely cover the Indian vehicle transit to the border, the Bhutanese vehicle rental for sightseeing inside Bhutan, and assistance with SDF and permit processing.

Is the Bhutan SDF (Sustainable Development Fee) included in the cab fare?

No. The SDF is a government tax (₹1,200 per adult per night) that must be paid directly to the Bhutanese government at the immigration counter. Our package only covers your transportation and our guide's assistance in helping you process the paperwork.

Do I have to carry Indian cash to Bhutan?

Yes. Indian digital payment systems (like UPI/GPay) do not work in Bhutan. The Bhutanese Ngultrum (BTN) is pegged at par with the Indian Rupee. Indian denominations of ₹100, ₹200, and ₹500 are widely accepted. Indian ₹2000 notes are not accepted.
