Welcome to the Himalayas! Upon your arrival at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri (NJP), your dedicated driver will receive you and begin the 4 to 5-hour journey into Sikkim. The drive follows the stunning Teesta River along NH10.

Upon reaching the capital city of Gangtok, check into your self-booked hotel. Spend the evening relaxing. We highly recommend visiting the pedestrian-only MG Marg for dinner and shopping. Meanwhile, our ground team will process your Tsomgo Lake and Nathula Pass permits for the next day.

Excursion to Tsomgo Lake, Baba Mandir & Nathula Pass

After an early breakfast, your driver will pick you up for a full-day excursion. Your first stop is the spectacular Tsomgo Lake (Changu Lake), situated at an altitude of 12,400 feet. This glacial lake is deeply revered by the locals and offers stunning reflections of the surrounding snow-capped peaks.

Further up, you will visit the Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, a shrine dedicated to an Indian army soldier. Finally, you will proceed to the highly restricted Nathula Pass (14,140 feet) to view the Indo-China border gates (subject to permit approval and weather conditions). Return to Gangtok by late afternoon for your overnight stay.

Comprehensive Guide: Booking Your Gangtok & Nathula Pass Tour Package

Why This Transport-Only Package is Perfect for Short Getaways

If you are short on time but still want to experience the thrill of the high Himalayas, the gangtok nathula pass tour package 3n 4d is your ideal itinerary. By offering a "Transport-Only" solution, we decouple the high markups traditional agencies place on hotels. You pay an affordable, fixed fare for a dedicated private SUV and a verified local driver who manages your Bagdogra or NJP airport pickup, your local sightseeing, and the challenging drive to the Indo-China border.

Understanding the Strict Nathula Pass Permits

Visiting the tsomgo lake nathula pass tour circuit is not as simple as hailing a local cab. This region is a highly sensitive military zone. Only Indian nationals are allowed to visit Nathula Pass, and it requires a special Protected Area Permit (PAP). Furthermore, passes are issued in limited numbers each day by the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department. By booking this gangtok weekend package, our ground team handles this bureaucratic hurdle for you in advance. (Please note: Nathula Pass is closed to visitors on Mondays and Tuesdays).

The Necessity of Booking a Private SUV

While you can navigate Gangtok town in a small car, the steep, rugged, and often snow-covered roads leading up to 14,140 feet demand a high-clearance vehicle. When you book your bagdogra to gangtok cab with us as part of this 4-day package, we strictly assign a robust SUV (like an Innova, Scorpio, or Xylo). Standard hatchbacks and sedans are legally and physically not permitted on the Nathula Pass route.

Package FAQ

Common questions about this 3N/4D Gangtok & Nathula Itinerary.

Does this package include our hotel stay?

No. This is strictly a "Transport-Only" package designed to give you flexibility. The fare covers your private SUV for Bagdogra/NJP transfers, Gangtok local sightseeing, the Nathula excursion, and basic permit processing fees. You must book your own hotels.

What documents do I need for the Nathula Pass Permit?

You will need to provide an original, valid Voter ID card or Indian Passport, along with 2 passport-size photographs. Note: Aadhar Cards and PAN Cards are NOT accepted for issuing Sikkim permits. Only Indian nationals are allowed to visit Nathula Pass.

What happens if Nathula Pass is closed due to weather or military rules?

Nathula Pass is highly sensitive to weather (snow blockages) and army regulations. It is also routinely closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. If the pass is closed on your travel date, your excursion will be limited to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir, and any extra spot fees collected for Nathula will be adjusted/refunded.
