How to Reach Singalila National Park from NJP & Taxi Details

Reaching the Park Gates (Manebhanjan)

The official entry point and permit office for the Singalila National Park is located at Manebhanjan. Manebhanjan is located about 90 kilometers from Siliguri, NJP Railway Station, and Bagdogra Airport. Standard tourist taxis, hatchbacks, and sedans can easily travel up to Manebhanjan via the scenic Mirik route. Inside the National Park

Once you reach Manebhanjan, standard commercial taxis from NJP are not permitted or capable of driving up the unpaved, steep route inside the Singalila National Park.

Can I see a Red Panda easily?

No. Red Pandas are highly elusive, solitary, and shy creatures that live deep in the bamboo thickets. While Singalila is one of the best places in India to spot them, it requires patience, a lot of luck, and an experienced local guide to track them.

Can I drive my personal car inside the park?

Absolutely not. Private vehicles and standard commercial taxis are strictly prohibited past Manebhanjan. The only vehicles allowed inside the park are the registered vintage 4x4 Land Rovers driven by the local syndicate.
